BRG klasifikasikan Karhutla sebagai bencana alam Print E-mail

[Jakarta, 3 Februari 2017] - Greenomics Indonesia meminta Badan Restorasi Gambut (BRG) untuk menunjukkan hasil revisi dokumen rencana strategisnya, yang pada versi awal menyatakan bahwa kebakaran hutan dan lahan (karhutla) merupakan bencana alam.

Menurut Greenomics, penyebutan karhutla sebagai bencana alam oleh BRG dalam dokumen resminya itu jelas merupakan suatu kecerobohan fatal yang dilakukan oleh BRG secara hukum karena akan menggugurkan seluruh sanksi administratif, perdata, dan pidana kepada para perusahaan-perusahaan yang lalai dan terkait dengan kebakaran hutan dan lahan.

Indicative map of peatland restoration project is misleading Print E-mail

[Jakarta, 29 June 2016] The findings of a spatial analysis conducted by Greenomics Indonesia in relation to the Peatland Restoration Project Indicative Map have revealed that that the map is misleading as it is not based on the prevailing regulations. Consequently, the map, which was produced by the Peat Restoration Agency (BRG), should be immediately withdrawn from the public consultation process.

This was stated by Vanda Mutia Dewi, executive director of Greenomics Indonesia, in Jakarta on Wednesday (Jun 29).

Peta Indikatif Restorasi Gambut menyesatkan para pihak Print E-mail

[Jakarta, 29 Juni 2016] Hasil analisis spasial Greenomics Indonesia terhadap Peta Indikatif Restorasi Gambut menunjukkan bahwa peta indikatif tersebut dapat menyesatkan para pihak karena peta indikatif tersebut tidak berbasis pada substansi yang sejalan dengan peraturan perundangan yang berlaku. Atas dasar tersebut, peta indikatif hasil kerja Badan Restorasi Gambut (BRG) tersebut harus segera ditarik dari proses konsultasi publik.

Demikian Vanda Mutia Dewi, Direktur Eksekutif Greenomics Indonesia, menyampaikan hasil analisis spasial terhadap Peta Indikatif Restorasi Gambut, Rabu (29/6/2016) di Jakarta.

Hamparan kebun sawit dominasi areal moratorium gambut Print E-mail

[Jakarta, 18 Januari 2016] Areal moratorium gambut yang merupakan salah satu produk dari Kemitraan Perubahan Iklim antara Norwegia-Indonesia ternyata didominasi oleh hamparan perkebunan sawit. Greenomics Indonesia mengungkapkan fakta tersebut dalam laporan berjudul “The Climate Scandal? Indonesia’s peatland moratorium areas dominated by a significant expanse of palm oil plantations”, yang diterbitkan hari ini di Jakarta (18/1/2016).

Laporan Greenomics tersebut memperlihatkan hampir 1,3 juta hektar areal moratorium gambut yang tersebar di Provinsi Riau, mayoritasnya merupakan hamparan perkebunan sawit. Lihat video di sini.

The majority of peatland moratorium areas is dominated by palm oil plantations Print E-mail

[Jakarta, 18 January 2016] The bulk of the peatland moratorium areas designated as part of the Norway-Indonesia Climate Change Partnership dominated by palm oil plantations, a Greenomics Indonesia report published today in Jakarta (18/01/2016).

The report shows that nearly 1.3 million hectares of peatland moratorium areas in Sumatra's Riau province are made up of palm oil plantations. Watch the video here.

GAR, Wilmar punish palm oil supplier for clearing rainforest in New Guinea PDF Print E-mail

Last summer, an Indonesian NGO published research showing that an oil palm developer controlled by one of the country’s richest businessmen was clearing dense rainforest in New Guinea despite promises by its biggest customers to purge their supply chains of deforestation.

Nearly a year later, the company’s bulldozers are still at work, and multinational palm oil traders Asian Agri and Musim Mas, which have each signed high-profile no-deforestation commitments, are still sourcing it, according to the latest report by the NGO, Greenomics-Indonesia.
